Well the UK diving season is about to fin into action. HWSAC official warm up!?! dive is on the 22nd March at Vobster Quay. Simon Fennell our Diving Officer is organising the event and as also arranged to do some Nitrox practi-cal training, so its really worth while going along. If you don’t want to do the Nitrox training is a good opportunity to get back in the water to check kit / weight / buoyancy etc before the proper diving starts.

Training with Us

If you decide to train with the club you will be trained under the British Sub-Aqua Club (BSAC) training schemes.  At the end of the training you will have an internationally recognised qualification.

BSAC Training available:

  • Ocean Diver
  • Sports Diver
  • Dive Leader
  • Advanced Diver
  • Agency Crossover - the training is structured on an individual basis based on qualification level.
  • BSAC Skill Development Courses
    • O2 Administration
    • Practical Rescue Management
    • Search & Recovery
    • Life Saving
    • Boat Handling

We run the Ocean Diver training 2 or 3 times a year and the other courses on a 'As required' basis. Theory lessons normally take place on a Tuesday evening with the pool lessons taking place on a Thursday. Throughout the year we run open water training, normally on the 1st weekend of each month and during the summer we hold bi-weekly training sessions at Wraysbury on a Wednesday evening.

We run open water training at Wraysbury, Stoney Cove, Vobster and in Portland, making use of the club RIB. Once a year, we run a training week in Tenerife.

If you are a qualified diver via another training agency you can do a Crossover course and gain a BSAC qualification and then extend your training under BSAC.
